A total of 30 shots, with 60 possible points for the match. First place ties will go to a shoot off, details of which to be determined by the Match Director.
THE TARGET- There are 4 pieces of hanging steel at each yardage. With the largest on the left, descending to the smallest on the right. At 200yds the steel sizes are 5”, 4”, 3”, and 2”. Once either the shooter is finished engaging their targets or a Match Director gives the “Cease Fire” command, the shooters will remove their bolts and magazines and await further instructions. If the shooters firearm does not have a removable bolt, they must flag their firearm.
AFTER THE MATCH-
22 Long Gong
$20 Entrance Fee - $10 for each firearm after the first.
Registration is from 9am to 10am with the match starting at 10am.
THE GAME-This is a 200yd & 300yd shooting challenge using rifles chambered in 22LR only. The objective is to shoot the highest score possible.
THE TARGET- The targets are ¼” thick steel plates ranging in sizes from 8”, 6”, and 4”. A value is assigned to each plate. The 8” =1pt, 6” =2pts, 4” =3pts
THE SETUP- From a bench using a rest and rear bags (limited to bipods and rear bags only, no other front rests) each shooter will begin the relay engaging the 8” gong first. The shooter has 3 minutes to shoot 10 rounds. The clock starts on the Scorer’s command. There are 5 relays totaling 50 rounds. Each relay is worth a total of 27 points: (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27) The highest possible score a shooter can achieve is 135 points. In the case of a tie, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.
THE ORDER- Once the shooter makes contact with the 8” gong, they can choose to engage the 6” gong or continue shooting the 8” gong. If the shooter chose to shoot the 6” gong and missed, they then must go back and re-engage the 8” gong. If they hit the 6” gong, they can choose to continue shooting the 6” gong or move onto the 4” gong. Chain hits count as a miss and are worth zero points. Each miss will be scored as a “0” and the shooter must go back to the prior gong until contact is made.
THE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorer before each shot which target they are engaging. The impact will only count if it’s a solid impact on steel. Chain hits do not count. Each miss, the shooter must go back to the previous gong. If the shooter hits a different gong than the one they called out, it will be marked down as a miss and a zero, and the shooter must continue to engage the correct gong.
